The voice of the River

River seems to be having an explosion in language and talking. In recent weeks, she's gotten very sharp at mimicking someone else's words and tones, so she'll imitate words and phrases after Magnolia says them. And she's had a few solid words for quite some time - "agua," "mama," "dada." She added "book" a little while back. But in the last few days, there's a new word or two every day, and she no longer needs us to set up the context for her. She just comes up with the words of her own initiative.

Some examples:
-as we were driving up College Avenues, she looked out the window at the display in the Walk Shop and said "shoe"
-I put her little yellow ducky bib on her, and she looked down at it and said "duck!"
-She wanted the same thing to drink as her sister, and said "juice"
-She was asking for her item that had fallen on the floor, and said "napkin."
-When she hands us a book, she commands, "Read!"

So, I think this is the tipping point - our little baby talks!

Sorry for all the repeated comments -- having problems with the double words to prove I'm not a robot

River is such a wonderful little girl. She was a great communicator before the words started coming. The fun continues.
